Our Story: Founded on Engineering Passion

Hexcode Plus R&D was established in 2019 in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, with a singular mission: to create a dedicated engineering research and development organization that bridges the gap between academic theory and industrial-grade hardware solutions. In a landscape dominated by software services companies, we recognized the critical need for specialized hardware-centric R&D capabilities within India — particularly in embedded systems, IoT infrastructure, and digital electronics design.

What began as a focused embedded systems laboratory has grown into a multi-domain engineering organization with active research tracks spanning microcontroller firmware development, IoT ecosystem architecture, robotics and autonomous systems, PCB design engineering, and software development for hardware interfaces.

Operating from two facilities in Thiruvananthapuram — our primary laboratory in Kallattumukku and our secondary office in Poojappura — we serve clients across India's industrial, agricultural, automotive, defense, and consumer electronics sectors. Our location in Kerala's technology corridor, with proximity to Technopark (one of Asia's largest IT parks), leading engineering institutions, and a growing electronics component supply chain, positions us advantageously for rapid prototyping and collaborative research.

Precision-Driven Development

We believe that engineering excellence is achieved through precision at every stage of the development lifecycle. Requirements are documented with measurable specifications. Designs are validated through simulation before physical implementation. Code is tested at the unit, integration, and system levels. Documentation is comprehensive and standards-compliant. This precision-driven approach reduces risk, controls costs, and delivers predictable outcomes — distinguishing professional engineering from ad-hoc development.

Hardware-Software Co-Design

The artificial separation of hardware and software engineering leads to suboptimal systems. We practice hardware-software co-design — where circuit architecture and firmware architecture are developed in tandem, each informing the other. Pin assignments consider firmware routing convenience. Communication protocols are selected based on both electrical characteristics and software complexity. Power management strategies coordinate hardware sleep modes with firmware duty cycling.

Open Standards & Toolchains

Wherever feasible, we favor open standards, open-source toolchains, and vendor-neutral approaches over proprietary lock-in. Our primary PCB design tool (KiCAD) is open source. Our firmware development leverages GCC-based toolchains. Our IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP) are open standards. This philosophy ensures that clients retain full ownership and flexibility over their technology — no black boxes, no hidden dependencies, no surprise licensing fees.

MSME Registration

Hexcode Plus R&D is registered as a Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) under the Government of India's MSME Development Act, 2006. This Udyam Registration (formerly Udyog Aadhaar) recognizes our organization as a formal, government-acknowledged engineering enterprise operating in the R&D and prototyping services sector.

The MSME certification provides formal recognition of our organizational status, ensures compliance with national quality and operational standards, and enables participation in government-supported technology development programs.
